Questionnaire Summary
For the first question I asked if people read any music magazine, over half of the people who answered said yes they did and the other said they no. This shows that people are interested in music magazines already. For the second question I asked what 3 colours would appeal to people on the front cover of a magazine. It was varied but all people voted white as one of their colours, following up behind was the colour black and joint third were the colour blue and red. Then lastly is green and yellow who only both got 20% of the vote. So from here I can see that the 2 most definite colours that I will use will be black and white. Along with that any colour can go with black and white so it won’t be such a difficult decision to make. The third question that I asked was how much would they pay for a magazine, from the results there is clear winner and that is paying a £1 as it had 60% of the vote. In fact no one would pay nothing and neither would they pay the highest price of £2.50. Only 20% of the people said that they would pay 50p only. For the fourth question I asked them what genre of music do they listen to and 40% said pop and for alternative, rock and indie had 20% of the vote. So it shows that pop culture is more popular to readers. The fifth question was what the reader’s would like within the magazine. Again 60% voted for the upcoming music from artists, shortly after that was the personal life with 20% and then one stated other, saying they would like the all above meaning all these categories are suitable to be put into the magazine. For the sixth question I asked how often they would like the magazine to be produced. 60% said they would like monthly issues of the magazine and 40% wanted either weekly or every fortnight. So from here I can conclude that it would be preferable to do every month. The seventh question asked was if they would be interested in free things within the magazine, and the whole 100% said yes they would be interested in free things within a magazine. So there is no other choice the magazine would be more popular if free things were included. The next question I asked was the age of the people voting and all said that they were 15-19 year olds, so this means this questionnaire was answered by the younger generation. I must take this into account as music magazine readers are not just the young teenagers and older reader purchase music magazines also. The ninth question asked was what the genders of my voters were. It was an equal 40% each for female and male and 20% specified other. This mean that there is a balance of both genders so it isn’t male or female dominated. The final question that I asked was would they like the magazine to be on multi-platform, 40% said yes, 20% said no and 40% said they didn’t care. This shows that it wouldn’t matter to 40% weather the magazine was on multi-platform yet 40% would like it on a multi-platform.
